TFX is a competition that celebrates the elements that make our community great. The competition is comprised of athletes between all levels of fitness; from the scaled athlete who wants to test themselves, to the seasoned pro that is looking to go head to head with the best from around the nation!

Athletes that compete in crossfit are a prime example of high performing athletes that push the limits of their bodies. Our PEMF technology has recently erupted into the athletic and performance market, helping thousands of athletes maximize performance, speed up recovery time, and reduce the risk of injury.

A Recap from The National by FCA 2018

 

Pulse Centers attended the National in Orlando, Florida this August for the 3rd consecutive year. This annual event featured the who’s who in the chiropractic industry with over 70 renowned speakers, 400 booths, and nearly 3,000 attendees. Interestinglynationalfca enough, there were many well known issues in the spotlight regarding wellness, addiction, and diet. The team from Pulse Centers saw many opportunities that show PEMF is well aligned to support and benefit these prevalent topics. Read more below for some of our takeaways from the event in Orlando.

We Need to Think, Eat, and Move Well

Dr. James L. Chestnut, one of the keynote speakers said, “We need to think, eat, and move well.” It is shown that 80% of deaths are caused by our lifestyle choices. This is increasing at an alarming rate, up 17% since 2014. Making healthy choices can lower your risk of dying early from the 5 leading causes of death: heart disease, cancer, chronic lower respiratory disease, accidents, and stroke. People are simply not getting the proper nutrition they need. Eating more cleanly can lower the risk of cancer and heart disease significantly. The American Cancer Society recommends eating at least 2 ½ cups of veggie/fruit a day; eating less red meat (beef, pork, and lamb) and less processed meat (bacon, sausage, luncheon meats, and hot dogs); choosing foods made from whole grains instead of refined grains; and eating fewer sweets. Engaging in physical activity for at least 75 minutes of high-intensity or 150 minutes of moderate-intensity each week is necessary. Integrating these lifestyle changes into your everyday routine will ultimately change how to think, feel, and live!

The Opioid Epidemic is REAL

The reliance on opioids has led to the worst crisis in American history. A staggering statistic showed that 259 million opioid prescriptions were given last year, enough to supply every adult in the country a full bottle of opioids. The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine have issued guidelines urging health care providers to pursue safe drug-free alternatives for the majority of non-cancer related treatment. The prevalence of opioids is so widespread because they are so effective and addictive. The problem is that opioids is an approach to pain management that focuses on the pharmacological masking of pain, rather than treating the actual cause of the pain when its source can be identified. Drug overdoses claimed the lives of nearly 64,000 Americans in 2016. Nearly two-thirds of these deaths (66%) involved a prescription or illicit opioid. These numbers have been increasing at alarming rates in recent years, and something must be done to help people calm their addiction.

         Conclusion

Overall wellness, addiction, and diet are a few of the many issues that are looming in our country today. After the weekend at FCA, there is hope that the world of chiropractic is shifting the way we think, feel, and live in 2018. Americans must really look themselves in the mirror and commit to making these lifestyle changes in order to sustain a long and healthy life.
